PREGNANCY ANAEMIA – 5 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

PREGNANCY ANAEMIA – 5 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

During pregnancy, your body needs more red blood cells to ensure that there is sufficient blood for you and your unborn baby. Red Blood Cells are made using Iron. Every red blood cell uses iron as its core AND this Iron cannot be made by your body. It can only be absorbed from the foods you eat.

Although iron is found in many foods, it is hard to absorb, making it difficult for your body to get enough to meet its needs during pregnancy. When you don't have enough iron in your diet, your body will make fewer red blood cells. This is called Anaemia. Often, women with anaemia don't have specific symptoms. If anaemia is severe, you may feel tired and weak. Iron deficiency anaemia is very common but it's easy to correct when you take the right supplement.

During pregnancy, your body also needs a nutrient called folic acid (folate) to make healthy blood cells. Folic acid (folate), is an important B vitamin for the health of your unborn baby. It promotes normal growth of the baby and helps to prevent certain malformations of the brain, skull and spine called neural tube defects. Neural tube defects include spina-bifida and anencephaly. Folic acid is found in most green vegetables.

Here's how you can prevent Anaemia during Pregnancy

Eat iron-rich foods such as meat, chicken, fish, eggs.

Eat foods rich in folic acid, such as vegetables and orange fruit.

Eat foods rich in vitamin C, such as citrus fruits and fresh, vegetables.

Take a good dietary supplement which contains all these vitamins and minerals.

A good dietary supplement you can use during pregnancy is EVERGREEN NATAL CARE.

EVERGREEN NATAL CARE is widely recommended for pregnant women. It contains 18 important recommended nutrients and vitamins such as Iron, folic acid (folate), vitamin C, A, D, E, B, calcium, iodine, etc. These nutrients are required to maintain a safe and healthy pregnancy. EVERGREEN NATAL CARE prevents birth defects, premature delivery and low birth weights. It reduces the risk of pregnancy-induced hypertension, relieves morning sickness in pregnancy and gives rise to the birth of a strong and healthy baby.
